Thought of mostly for its skiing, Taos is also a great place to visit in the summer. With summer almost here, it’s time to start planning your vacation to Taos. Add these summer events and festivals to your calendar for an unforgettable vacation!
As one of the biggest Pow Wows in the country, the Taos Pueblo Pow Wow is going to be holding their event again this year for the 33rd year in a row. Taking place at the Taos Pueblo Buffalo Grounds, it will be a fun-filled weekend of colorful dancers and singers, food vendors, plus arts and crafts from local artists. There is no seating provided at the event so be sure to bring your own chair.
When: July 14th & 15th, 2018

Every summer the town of Taos hosts a live concert series, Taos Plaza Live. Join spectators every Thursday night at the Taos Plaza for a free fun night of entertainment. So, pull up a chair and enjoy the sound of music in the historic streets of Taos.
When: Opening night is May 31st, 2018, occurring every Thursday night
Time: 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm
This 3-day festival taking place at Taos Mesa Brewing will have a line-up of over 20 different bands, scheduled to play throughout the weekend. This magical experience will offer concertgoers views of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, while perched atop a high mesa. Located at the gateway to the Rio Grande del Norte National Monument, there will be endless outdoor adventures waiting for all spectators.

The rodeo’s in town! Celebrating its 50th-year last year in 2017, Rodeo de Taos offers an action-packed weekend of cowboys, horses, barrel racing, team roping, and much more. The event kicks off with the Rodeo de Taos parade on Saturday morning.

Town of Taos Fourth of July Celebration
Celebrate our nation’s birthday by joining others for the fourth of July Taos celebration. With live music, pancake breakfasts, and a spectacular firework display, it is a day that can be enjoyed by the entire family. Additional celebrations will be taking place at Taos Ski Valley and in the town of Arroyo Seco.
When: July 4th, 2018
Fiesta de Taos is an annual event that celebrates the Feast of St. Anne and St. James. Because of the importance of this festival, Taos locals have four different names, Las Fiestas de Taos, Las Fiestas de don Fernando de Taos, Las Fiestas de Santiago y Santana and Las Fiestas de la Gente. Full of lively music, dancing, two parades, and even a crowning of the Fiesta Queen, it is a celebration that is not to be missed.

Breathe in the summer mountain air at the 3rd annual Taos Ski Valley Arts Festival. Visitors can shop local and regional artists work, enjoy tasty food, live music, and a children’s craft tent. Entry to the event is FREE!
