It's a historic hotel. The bed was fine. The ice machine sucked and there were very few amenities. Our big issue though was with the lack of security. Anyone could get in or out without being seen. It was a bit unnerving although to be fair, they've obviously shipped out the homeless and criminal element for the sake of tourism. 🙄 (The city, not the hotel) The hotel was overpriced given the lack of amenities but, the location was fantastic! The staff was good and dealt with our AC problem. The AC needed to be reset. We had no idea. Also, it's split level and while there is an elevator, you can't completely avoid stairs.
Anyway, everything in Taos closes ridiculously early FYI
We will be back to Taos because we didn't see even half of what we could have.

Great room overlooking the Plaza, so close to everything

Comfortable and well equipped rooms. Central location. Helpful, friendly staff. Highly recommended.

The hotel has a great location. The staff was nothing but accommodating. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Will definitely be back again!

Quaint hotel right on the plaza within walking distance to shops and short drive to restaurants.

Love this hotel! Its a true piece of wonderful Taos history. Love that they kept the great vintage furnishings. Love that some bougie corporation hasn't come in and "improved it." Keep Taos original thats why I come to Taos. I also love all the great history, art, lovely people and climate.
I had another lovely stay: room was quiet, clean, comfi, felt safe as a solo female traveler and room is interesting.

When traveling nothing will ever be perfect but finding joy in the differences is what makes me happy.

Authentic, historical property with great staff La Fonda Taos is the oldest building in Taos, going back to 1820 as a hotel, trading post, saloon, and more. While reasonably modernized it still retains that beautiful od flavor. Staff is welcoming and open to your needs

With the plaza at your door step and immediate service for any request needed, La Fonda is a genuine place to be. The rooms were inspirational and culturally respective. Is my go to place to stay in Taos
